What are they?
Facial rejuvenation with the use of injectable fillers involves injecting a substance into the skin in order to correct a wrinkle or a deep fold such as nose to mouth lines. Injectable fillers can also be used to create lift as well as add volume or fullness to the cheek and lips.
Most dermal fillers contain hyaluronic acid which is a naturally occurring sugar found in skin tissue. This along with collagen and elastin, forms the building blocks of our skin.
Hyaluronic acid can hold over 1000 times its own weight in water, therefore once injected will lump out the lines in the skin giving a more youthful appearance.
We only use FDA approved Juvederm dermal filler products which have consistently demonstrated safety, efficacy and predictability.
What happens during treatment?
Following your consultation with your medical practitioner a topical anaesthetic cream will be applied to the area being treated if required. The dermal filler will be gently injected into the area instantly filling or lifting the intended area. Whilst a little discomfort may be experienced, most clients find the sensation entirely manageable.
Is there any downtime?
There may be a little swelling and redness after treatment, which will generally subside within a few hours. Bruising can occur in the treated area but this will usually fade over a few days.
How long will the results last?
Dermal fillers usually last between 6-12 months dependent on area being treated and the product used.
