What is it?
Schlerotherapy is the treatment of thread veins to the legs also also known as spider veins which appear in the dermis of the skin.
How does it work?
Fibrovein is a detergent based sclerosant used for the treatment of veins in the legs. It is a sterile aqueous injection which occludes veins by the process of sclerosis.
What happens during treatment?
The area to be treated is cleaned before the practitioner inserts a needle into the surface of the skin. The solution is then injected until the area of thread vein disappears or a visible pink reaction occurs. The needle is removed and pressure applied to the injection site. The process is repeated to other areas of thread veins on the legs.
Is there any downtime?
There is no downtime and whilst the treatment is painless, some bruising may occur.
What results will I see?
Improvement will be over several weeks and further treatment may be required as advised by your practitioner.
